Infant Massage Teacher Training Programme

A 5-day programme (delivered in 2 parts) encompassing research-based evidence, giving the professional an easy-to-learn practical Baby Massage massage routine and the under-pinning knowledge to teach parents safely, ethically and professionally.

A 1-day supplementary programme for qualified Baby Massage Teachers who wish to offer support to parents with premature babies, or babies with special needs. Certified CPD Workshop.

Programme includes:

Baby Signing Teacher Course 3rd - 4th March 2025

Event details

A 2-day programme for those working with parents with children in early years. Baby signing has been around for the past 30-40 years, and has become increasingly popular in the UK over the last 15 years or so.

Evidence has shown that infants who sign, understand language, have larger vocabularies, and learn to talk sooner compared to those who have not signed. Baby signing is a form of communication with your baby before he/she has the ability to talk, using extended gestures such as British Sign Language or Makaton.

Babies naturally use a combination of gestures and sounds to help their parents understand them. Baby signing uses standardised signs based on British Sign Language (BSL), and teaches babies and toddlers the basic signs relevant to their daily routines to enable them to express their needs or thoughts.

Babies and toddlers understand a lot more than we give them credit for, but they are often held back by their physical inability to talk. However their ability to use their hands to gesture or form signs can enable them to communicate their needs or thoughts much sooner.

The Massage for the Growing Child programme is a fun and interactive course and a super addition to the comprehensive suite of programmes and workshops that Touch-Learn International Ltd offers.

It is a one-day workshop for Qualified Infant Massage Teachers who wish to extend and expand the range of classes they offer to parents and children.

The Massage for the Growing Child Workshop Includes:
You will learn:
• Massage techniques and an adapted routine for the Growing Child
• How to facilitate games and stories using massage and positive-touch
• Relaxation techniques
• First-Aid Box and self-help for Children
• Guidelines for managing effective and enjoyable sessions with parents and children or when facilitating peer-to-peer massage
The programme includes:
• Teaching practice and tutor evaluation
Admission Criteria
To study for the Touch-Learn International Massage for the Growing Child Certificate you must be a qualified Infant Massage Teacher, with the necessary skills to facilitate parenting classes professionally, ethically and safely. (Touch-Learn advise attendance at an infant massage programme that includes a minimum of 4 days teaching as a suitable standard).
Cost: £210. Non-funded places will be required to pay a £50 deposit.
